Drop of Hope-Mega Blood Donation Camp at CISF

Rotary Club of Satellite City Navi Mumbai conducted a Blood Donation Camp at CISF, Kharghar on 1st July, 2015 to mark the start of the new Rotary Year 2015-16. The camp was organised at CISF West Sector Headquarters at Kharghar, Navi Mumbai between 8 am and 3 pm. The camp was inaugurated by Inspector General, CISF Shri S B Shiradkar, Deputy Inspector General, CISF Satish Khandare and RI Dist 3140 Assistant Governor - Rtn M.K. Chettiar.  The programme was conducted with the assistance of Mahatma Gandhi Blood Bank, Thane who had helped us with the entire infrastructure for the camp. It was a widely advertised campaign through social media, posters and banners in and around the CISF Headquarters, Residential Societies, local Railway Station and other prominent places. The club could collect 102 units of blood from the various donors on the day. CISF jawans participated very enthusiastically in the camp and came out in large numbers to donate. They also ensured that the camp be conducted in a very smooth manner without creating any hassle for the donors and hampering the routine work at CISF. Adequate arrangements of tea, snacks and other items were made for the donors and other guests with the help of CISF. Fellow Rotarians and their family members, friends and general public also participated in large numbers to make the event successful. All the donors were also presented with a certificate and a blood bank card which can be used by them to avail blood unit in case of any emergency.

 

CISF Inspector General was very pleased to take note of the efforts taken by Rotary Club of Satellite City Navi Mumbai in community service. Assistant Governor Rtn M.K.Chettiar also applauded the efforts of the club and was pleased to see the involvement of large number of club members in the event. The event was widely covered in the local media like The Hindustan Times, Vashi Times and News Band.
